With the goal of developing various collaborative actions and strategies focused on supporting individuals and families in poverty and social exclusion, Déficit Cero and the Hogar de Cristo signed a collaborative work agreement centered on two fundamental pillars.

The first involves the development of housing studies and initiatives, where both institutions will collaborate on studies and projects addressing common housing issues. These initiatives will be aimed at benefiting individuals and families in vulnerable situations, following the beneficiary profile of Hogar de Cristo.

Additionally, the agreement seeks to promote the partnership in the generation and dissemination of projects. Déficit Cero and Hogar de Cristo will join forces in creating and promoting projects endorsed by both institutions. The goal is to amplify the impact of housing projects, ensuring greater visibility and support for initiatives developed together.

Sebastián Bowen, Executive Director of Déficit Cero, stated that "through this partnership with Hogar de Cristo, we hope to develop studies and projects that not only benefit vulnerable people but also bring about significant change in their lives. We want this collaboration to be a beacon of hope and set a precedent for social innovations."

For their part, Hogar de Cristo expressed their enthusiasm for this agreement, highlighting the importance of joining forces to address the housing crisis in Chile and working on solutions that truly impact the quality of life of people in poverty. "The evidence shows that having a home is the first - and most crucial - step towards overcoming critical situations of poverty and vulnerability. The Housing First program, in which Hogar de Cristo has been a leader since its implementation over five years ago, has already helped more than 700 people leave the streets and achieve social, family, and job inclusion. This is an example of how thinking outside the box and combining efforts can achieve much more than just palliative solutions. This agreement with Déficit Cero moves in that direction, and we are happy to start this journey together," said Hogar de Cristo’s National Social Director, Liliana Cortés.

With this agreement, Deficit Cero and Hogar de Cristo reaffirm their commitment to collaborating on initiatives that promote social inclusion and access to decent housing, generating a positive and lasting impact on the most vulnerable communities in the country.

Deficit Cero is an initiative aimed at addressing the urban housing crisis in Chile. Its goal is to ensure that all families have access to decent and adequate housing, impacting other areas of life such as education, health, safety, and child well-being.
