The housing crisis in our country has reached alarming levels in recent years. Between 2015 and 2017, the housing deficit saw a significant increase, exacerbated by the rise in overcrowding. Currently, more than 663,941 families live in precarious conditions, whether in informal settlements, on the streets, in irreparable homes, or in overcrowded situations.

In response to this challenging reality, the Housing and City Network has been launched as an initiative by Déficit Cero. This network serves as a meeting point for thousands of people seeking access to dignified and sustainable housing. It provides up-to-date information on housing and urban issues, as well as training opportunities for those aspiring to become homeowners.

Since its launch, the Network has brought together over 15,000 people seeking clear and direct information on housing improvements, rentals, subsidies, loans, and home purchases. Additionally, more than 150 community leaders share their experiences, and over 1,000 individuals have participated in 33 courses offered across the country.
